J.D. Donnelly was born on a beach, grew up on a deer-covered mountain, and studied Studio Art and Creative Writing on a cow-covered mountain at Hollins University. Her love of art, biology, folklore, literature, marine mythology, paleontology, and zoology blends in her work with analytical magic and imaginative creatures.
